Advantages and troubleshooting measures of orbital motors

1. Advantages

(1)This motor features a compact structure and lightweight design, offering significantly smaller dimensions compared to other hydraulic motors delivering the same torque output.

(2)It supports a wide range of operating speeds with smooth, stepless regulation. The minimum stable speed can reach as low as 15 rpm. Installation and system integration are straightforward, requiring minimal investment.

(3)The motor is suitable for both series and parallel configurations within hydraulic systems, enhancing flexibility in system design.

(4)With low rotational inertia, it enables reliable startup under load conditions. It supports bidirectional rotation without the need to stop when switching directions.

2. Fault phenomenon and treatment measures

(1) Output shaft does not rotate

Fault cause: Driven component is stuck; System fault, oil circuit is blocked; Motor output shaft is subjected to large radial load;

Treating method: Check system oil circuit; Check whether the passive component is stuck; Check radial load and whether the installation is coaxial

(2) Insufficient torque

Fault cause: Oil temperature is too high or hydraulic oil viscosity is low; Stator and rotor or coupling are worn; Working pressure difference is small;

Treating method: Check oil temperature and hydraulic oil; Check working pressure difference; Check stator and rotor coupling shaft wear;

(3) Excessive noise

Fault cause: Air in the hydraulic system; Overspeed operation; Part damage;

Treating method: Check whether there is air in the system and eliminate it; Check motor speed; Replace failed parts;

(4) Motor temperature is too high

Fault cause: Overload operation; Part damage; System reason;

Treating method: Load according to regulations; Check the system; Replace damaged parts;

(5) Inter-plate oil leakage

Fault cause: The sealing ring is damaged; there are dirt or burrs between the mating surfaces; the bolt tightening torque is not enough;

Solution:

Tighten the bolts; check the seals; remove dirt on the mating surfaces;

(6) Oil leakage from the front cover dynamic seal

Fault cause: The dynamic sealing ring is scratched; dirt enters the shaft end, or the sealing part enters the water or other media, causing the shaft rust to damage the sealing ring; the shaft is subjected to excessive radial load; the return oil back pressure is too high

Solution: Replace the shaft sealing ring; remove dirt such as rust on the shaft; Check whether it is subjected to excessive load; connect the external oil leakage pipe

3. Precautions for disassembling and assembling the motor

(1) When disassembling and assembling, ensure that the site is clean and do not damage the parts.

(2) Before assembly, clean the parts with gasoline or kerosene (be careful not to immerse the rubber seals in gasoline). Do not wipe the parts with cotton yarn or cotton cloth. When assembling the seals, apply a proper amount of grease around them to prevent scratching the seal ring during assembly.

(3) After assembly, add 50ml to 100ml of clean hydraulic oil to the motor oil port, rotate the output shaft, and check for any abnormalities.

(4) To ensure the correct rotation direction of the motor, pay attention to the corresponding position relationship between the output shaft and the rotor.

(5) During assembly, ensure that the rear end bolts are tightened evenly. For details, ask the motor supplier.
